I watched him go through the check list and stuck a small mirror just like the one I own right behind the plenum in the center. He also checked the EGR tubes on the sides of the plenum. I would have failed if the system had bee removed or visibly blocked off anywhere. The only way I could have passed without the EGR is if everything was left in place and blocked off internally.
I really don't feel that someone who doesn't live in CA should be telling those of use who do live in CA that it's OK to remove the EGR.
Additionally, I don't buy the reasons given and don't believe for a second that hot exhuast will come back into the through the EGR tubes into the plenum while under boost....not for second.
